Description

Tenute Moganazzi is a family-owned estate rooted in tradition, passion, and respect for the land. Founded in the 1990s by cardiologist Michele Pennisi, who fell in love with an eight-hectare vineyard on Etna’s slopes, the estate is now managed by his son Vincenzo, a geologist. With care spanning generations, the winery produces just 4,000 bottles annually, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to quality. Perched at 650 meters above sea level in Passopisciaro, the vineyards thrive on ancient basaltic soils rich in silica and minerals. Steep slopes, volcanic ash, and old vines—averaging 80 years and cultivated with the traditional alberello method—create a singular terroir, giving the wines tension, depth, and a distinctive volcanic identity. Tenute Moganazzi embraces low-impact, sustainable viticulture: manual labor, native yeast fermentation, and dry-farmed vines ensure minimal intervention while preserving biodiversity and heritage. Every bottle is a true expression of the land, reflecting both environmental stewardship and the timeless elegance of Etna’s volcanic vineyards.
