Description Image Geographic and Cultural Origin
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes cultivated in the Montalcino area, with strict quality standards guaranteed by its DOCG status since 1980. The vineyards of La Corte dei Venti are located in Montalcino’s southeastern quadrant, where sunlight and wind exposure promote slow, even ripening and aromatic depth. This microzone, with its mineral-rich red clay soils, has long been recognized for producing structured and long-lived Brunellos.

Technique and Artisanal Craftsmanship
Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 36 months in Slavonian oak casks and smaller tonneaux or barriques, followed by at least 6 to 12 months of bottle aging. Yield is capped at 8 tons per hectare, with a final wine yield under 68%. The long aging process develops the wine’s complex structure, tannic finesse, and aging potential.

Organoleptic and Nutritional Characteristics
Brilliant garnet red in color. The bouquet is complex and persistent, with notes of forest floor, wild berries, aromatic wood, dried flowers, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and harmonious, with firm yet elegant tannins and a long, savory finish. Alcohol content is at least 12.5%, typically higher.

Culinary Use
Ideal for pairing with game meats, grilled beef, slow-cooked stews, and aged cheeses. This Brunello's structure and complexity make it a powerful partner for rich, traditional Tuscan dishes and a candidate for long-term aging in the cellar.
Producers Image Producer
La Corte dei Venti is a family-owned estate rooted in Montalcino’s winemaking tradition since 1943. Today, it is led by Clara Monaci, who carries forward the legacy of the Pieri family. The winery was founded when part of the historic Piancornello property was passed down to the new generation. Located in the southeast of Montalcino, it benefits from a unique climate shaped by constant sea breezes.

Territory
The estate spans 5 hectares of vineyards, including 2.8 dedicated to Brunello. The vineyards are situated on hilly terrain rich in iron-limestone clay and minerals. This zone, known for its “terre rosse” (red soils), is especially favorable for Sangiovese, thanks to excellent sunlight and the protective influence of Mediterranean winds, which contribute to healthy vine growth and optimal grape ripening.

Sustainability Image La Corte dei Venti practices sustainable viticulture with a strong commitment to environmental preservation. All vineyard work is manual, and the constant airflow in the region allows for minimal intervention, reducing the need for chemical treatments. The winery uses natural temperature and humidity control during vinification and aging. Their traditional and respectful approach results in wines that are both ecologically responsible and authentically expressive of the Montalcino terroir.
