GEOGRAPHIC AND CULTURAL ORIGINWe aim for low vine yields, but above all we alue the ripeness of the fruit to ensure the optimum expression of quality in our wines. In our historic vineyards, such as Podere di Bellazoia, characterized by a cooler climate, we obtain richly-flavoured, aromatic grapes with good acidity.
In the Podere di Manzano and San Giovanni al Natisone vineyards we have selected plants (clones) of Ribolla Gialla suitable for a hot and often dry climate, to obtain wines with good alcoholic strength and ripe fruit aromas.
TECHNIQUE AND ARTISANAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
The vines are trained using a double-arched cane guyot system on marly sandstone hills. The canopy management operations are mostly carried out manually in order to achieve a balanced relationship between grape production and leaf surface.
CULINARY USE
Serve at 12°C. well structured and very versatile Pinot Grigio that could paired with any salad with white meat or with fish dishes. Also excellent as aperitif

TERRITORY
Bellazoia is the easternmost hamlet in the municipality of Povoletto, a village consisting of houses built mostly along the main road and the road branching off from it. Since time immemorial it has been a farming village where some of the local people have worked in viticulture.
Tenimenti Civa grows the vines in the verdant countryside and the belt of hills lying to the north of the town. Our plots, alongside the woods, slope down towards the plain that in turn slopes slowly down to the sea.
The vineyards, together with the wooded hills and the peaks of the Julian Prealps, give the Bellazoia vineyard an enchanting beauty. At harvest time they offer wonderful shades of colour and life.
Observed from afar, the Julian Prealps resemble an ancient wall, and extraordinary views of the mountains celebrated by authors such as Chateaubriand in his memoirs, or in the works of Gabriel Fauré and Carlo Emilio Gadda.
The Alps and Prealps act as a precious shield, protecting the vines from the cold north winds, while the Adriatic Sea ensures light and constant air circulation. The whole hilly area is the result of a very slow sedimentation process, with debris, sands and clays accumulating on the seabed
We use an “integrated management” system to work the soil. This involves making green manure to enrich it with organic matter, and the use of grassing in function of vineyard age and soil type, in order to limit mowing and, consequently, trampling of the ground. In this way carbon dioxide production is significantly reduced. Moreover, the roots of the vine are free to explore the soil and draw on large water reserves, thus limiting the negative effects of summer heat.
