GEOGRAPHIC AND CULTURAL ORIGINCascina Palazzo Toasted Hazelnuts are made exclusively with Alta Langa PGI hazelnuts, grown in Feisoglio, in the hills of Piedmont.
The Alta Langa is a territory internationally recognized for producing some of the finest hazelnuts in the world. Here, the combination of climate, soil composition and centuries-old agricultural knowledge gives the Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnut its distinctive aroma, delicate flavor and exceptional quality.
Selected for their large calibre and naturally perfect shape, these hazelnuts represent the pure expression of a territory where hazelnut cultivation has been part of local culture for generations.
TECHNIQUE AND ARTISANAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Cascina Palazzo selects only the finest whole hazelnuts from its harvest, choosing fruits with the ideal calibre and structure.
After harvesting, the hazelnuts are naturally dried in the open air and sunlight of the Alta Langa, allowing them to slowly reach the perfect level of humidity while preserving their aromatic qualities.
They are then gently toasted using a warm-air system, a delicate process chosen to respect the natural flavors, nutritional properties and organoleptic characteristics of the hazelnut.
Once toasted, the hazelnuts are vacuum-packed to protect their freshness and aroma. Opening the package releases the unmistakable fragrance of freshly toasted hazelnuts, transporting the senses directly to the hazelnut groves of the Alta Langa hills.
ORGANOLEPTIC AND NUTRITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
These toasted hazelnuts offer an intense yet balanced flavor, with elegant notes of roasting, a delicate sweetness and the characteristic aroma of Alta Langa hazelnuts.
Their crunchy texture and naturally rich taste make them a refined expression of the fruit, appreciated by both gourmet consumers and culinary professionals.
The gentle roasting process enhances the natural aromatic profile while preserving the nutritional qualities of the hazelnut, naturally rich in beneficial fats, fiber and minerals.
A pure ingredient where simplicity highlights the exceptional quality of the raw material.
CULINARY USE
Perfect enjoyed on their own as a premium snack, Cascina Palazzo Toasted Hazelnuts are also a versatile ingredient for refined culinary applications.
They can be used to enrich desserts, chocolate creations, pastries, cakes and gelato, adding crunch, aroma and the unmistakable taste of Alta Langa hazelnuts.
Ideal for breakfast, aperitifs or gourmet pairings, they can also accompany cheeses, honey and other premium ingredients.
A simple yet exceptional product, designed to bring the authentic flavor of the hazelnut grove directly to the table.
PRODUCERSCascina Palazzo is a family-run hazelnut farm located in Feisoglio, in the heart of the Alta Langa.
The history of the company began in 1915, when Luigi Quazzo purchased the historic Cascina Palazzo and transformed it into a working farm, planting the first hazelnut trees on the sunniest slopes of the land.
Over four generations, the Quazzo family has dedicated itself to cultivating, harvesting and processing Alta Langa hazelnuts, gradually expanding the hazelnut groves and preserving a deep connection with the territory.
Today, Manuel Quazzo continues this family tradition together with his father Angelo, his mother Rosalia, his wife Elisa and the next generation, combining agricultural knowledge with direct processing of their own hazelnuts.
From tree to package, every step takes place on their land: cultivation, harvesting, drying, roasting and preparation of their hazelnut products.
TERRITORY
Feisoglio is a small village of the Alta Langa, surrounded by hills, woods and pastures, where traditional agriculture remains deeply connected to the landscape.
Unlike the vineyard areas of the Langhe known worldwide for Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato, the Alta Langa is a more rugged and natural territory, characterized by hazelnut groves and ancient rural traditions.
Here, the combination of climate, soil and agricultural heritage creates the ideal conditions for the Tonda Gentile Trilobata, the hazelnut variety recognized as one of the finest in the world.
For generations, Alta Langa hazelnuts have been at the heart of Piedmontese confectionery culture, becoming a preferred ingredient for renowned pastry chefs, chocolatiers and artisan gelato makers around the world.
Cascina Palazzo’s production model is based on a close relationship between agriculture, territory and respect for natural processes. The hazelnuts are cultivated, harvested and processed entirely within the farm, creating a short supply chain that allows full control over quality and production methods.
The company follows the natural cycle of the hazelnut trees, using careful agricultural practices and gentle processing techniques designed to preserve the quality of the raw material.
From natural drying in the Alta Langa air to warm-air roasting, every stage is designed to protect the authentic aroma, nutritional properties and distinctive character of the hazelnut.
By maintaining a direct connection between the land and the final product, Cascina Palazzo preserves a centuries-old agricultural heritage while sharing the unique identity of Alta Langa hazelnuts with the world.
